Swami Vivekananda regarded the neglect of the masses and neglect of women as the two main causes for the downfall of India. He believed that the life and message of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi had great significance for the uplift of women. In one of his letters to a brother monk, Swamiji wrote: ‘Mother has been born to revive that wonderful Shakti in India; and making her the nucleus, once more will Gargis and Maitreyis be born into the world.’ On several occasions he expressed the wish to have a separate women’s monastic order on the lines of Sri Ramakrishna dev, with Holy Mother as its ideal and inspiration.
Sree Sarada Ashrama is an old religious, philanthropic organization established in 1956, at P-615, ‘O’ Block, Newalipore by Bani Debi and Mira Debi, the two direct disciples of Holy mother Sree Sree Saradamoni Debi. The Holy Mother is the central figure of this women’s organization. The Ashrama follows the ideals and the way shown by Sree Sree Maa to practise spiritual disciplines and carry out day to day activities. The Ashrama aimed at self emancipation and upliftment of human being through spiritual development and selfless services to the society, especially for empowerment of women..

On 2007 Smt Mamata Ghosh of behala , Kolkata decided to gift their land near Saguna, Raghunathpur( Gayespur Check post), P.O.- Ananadanagar,District- Nadia, towards Krishnanagar on National Highway No. 34 to Sree Sarada Ashrama, Newalipore,Kolkata to establish a branch center of Sree sarada ashrama . Main objective of this Ashrama is to develop spirituality among the local people. Daily Puja, Arati, bhajanas, Gita path, Kathamrita Path, Ramnaam sankirtana, discussion session on the life of Sri Sri Thakur, Maa, Swamaji and discussions on other religious importance are performed regularly with full dedication.

We have planned to construct a 5 storied building ,comprising of 1 Male word ,1 Female ward , Cabin facility. Like all developmental works we expect further support from all our devotees / friends / well-wishers.
The estimated cost comes to Rs. 8 corers .
